10/15/13 Second post for The Odyssey of this Writer and news on the new story.

Next week, I, Caslaikove, will launch the wonderful story of the planet, Terlokya. I will abide by a two paragraph limit, publish on Tuesdays, and the story will be repeated on the blog, The Odyssey of This Writer. Replication of past posts of 'The Odyssey of This Writer' will occur here on Thursdays while 'The story of Terlokya' will be published here on Tuesdays.

Added note - Real titles and sponsors appear for 'The Odyssey of This Writer' blog later in the story as the blog became more popular.

It's so weird how I got started being a writer. It will take a while to tell you, so I'll just divide it up so you only have a couple of paragraphs to read each week. I'll try to post on Tuesday mornings. Yesterday flew by so I'll start on a Wednesday.

I've always been a storyteller. And in case you didn't know, I've got the first book published from a 6 book series called The Savior Project. The book is titled, The Chosen One and it's all from my dreams. The next 5 books are also from those dreams. Sometimes I'd wake up thinking these things really happened. I used to tell bedtime stories from those dreams to my kids when they were little.

Anyway, I always wanted to write. Even while at UVa in business school, I took some journalism classes and wanted to switch careers but I received some STRONG advice from family members not to become a starving artist type. So I waited 30 years to become the starving artist type.

Next will be the 'prompt' that got me to put pen to paper - or fingers to keyboard. Whatever.

I'm Back with a new idea ...

It has been a while since I've posted anything here. But there is something we are going to join in with and that's from the writer Fritz, who is using Tumblr to tell his story ... The Odyssey of This Writer. Since that has been a success, I thought I'd replicate it here for those interested. The one on Tumblr comes out every Tuesday. But we're going to play catchup. I'll start from the beginning and keep it going. We'll never catch up but at least for those interested, you'll be able to follow something now instead of my past ramblings here.

This blog, (The Blog of Caslaikove) actually started on Oct 1, 2008. Last post was Sept 16, 2011. The book, The Chosen One, from the Savior Project series, came out and it's been hectic ever since. The author is squirreled away working on book 2 - Terlokya.

So let's do the first post of the blog from the author. It was the intro and done on 1/23/13.

Hey y’all. My blog is named “The Odyssey of this Writer”, and it’s the story of how I became a fantasy/sci-fi/romance (combo) writer. At least for the current 6 book series I’m doing.  Here's the link: http://fritz-franke.tumblr.com/. l post every Tuesday and keep it short. So follow if you dare and click if you like. It's gonna be a heckava ride. You're going to think I'm insane. (That is if you don't already) ;)

Wow. Last post was November when I had sleep issues. That is resolved in that I use a CPAP. I call that a band-aide but better than nothing.

So the big news is ...
... the first book is done. Finished last Monday. The final is off to the editor, I'm putting together the review group. There are some people (3) that follow this and I'm hoping each one of them will be on the review group. Ttocs is already in.

Hopefully, my editor will say - Great Job. Now let's get an agent to sign that contract with a big house!!! Then if I get a contract, then I can be the writer I'm supposed to be.

I'll keep you posted. This is where the fun is supposed to be.

Sleep? Necessary? If you are ...

Yeah, Sleep is necessary is you are writing a book. Come to think of it, it is necessary to living. Sleep has been a problem for a couple of years. It came to a head this summer when I just couldn't stay asleep. I'd wake up all the time. So this is going to be an interesting thread. More on it tomorrow.
