05/06/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - WARRIORS REBORN

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously I told of the new weapon, the Pulsar. A training program was set up to develop a ruthless soldier that would stop at nothing to protect Terlokya and all humans everywhere. Elite soldiers from the past were called warriors. But with the emergence of an enemy so fierce, and with beliefs that humans were merely food, we knew that we needed to be as brutal as them. The captured Veloptor, Balzzee, told us of other planets that had human life, but the Veloptors had captured these planets and used the inhabitants as a food source. Terlokya needed to find these planets and free them.

In the beginning of the Warrior Reborn program, soldiers within the ranks were encouraged to sign up. Only 1% of early signees made it past the first week. By the end of the first year, there were only five Terks in the program. What was required of them from the onset was not for the slightest faint of heart. The military hierarchy soon realized that this development was going to take more than a few years. This was going to take generations. Any Terk raised in the Terlokyan civil society was going to have to be a different breed to become a ruthless and merciless killing machine. All feelings of love and compassion would have to be eradicated. These new warriors would literally have to become animals.

04/29/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - PULSARS

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously I shared with you history on the discovery of traveling at the Speed of Light. Now that a small hitch in high speed space travel had been solved, laser technology was next. Weapons, specifically laser pistols, rifles, machine guns, and cannons, had to improve their laser delivery systems. Laser weapons of that time period fired a high energy stream which usually ended up obliterating whatever it hit. That made it difficult to capture an adversary. With a new found enemy now in existence, the need for information about them could only be acquired by capturing a Veloptor.

The solution to this problem came from a very unlikely source. In manufacturing, lasers had been in use for quite a while. Plus, industry lasers used a variable stream of energy in various manufacturing processes. So the transformation of that technology to weaponry went smoothly. Now a new sidearm was developed for Terlokyan soldiers, the Pulsar. Easily adaptable and modified. The fuel/ammo were proton fusion tubes that gave energy blasts, or streams of energy, that were funneled into laser beams when fired, depending on the length of the trigger pull. Amount of destruction or kill/injury was dependent on the energy setting. It came with a sleek polished black barrel. The entire frame and stock were a dull black. Reloading a proton fusion tube was easy. Pop the tube out, then pop one back in. The tube and the trigger were the only moving parts on the weapon. Simplistic in design, deadly on the battlefield. Extra tubes could be attached to each side of the weapon for easy access during reloads. This became the weapon of choice for all Terlokyans, especially the Warriors. Now a new breed of soldier was needed to combat the terrifying new enemy.

04/22/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - SOL

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously, I talked about Split Magnetic Field Travel, or SMFT, and its limitations. Experimentation was going on in regards to SOL, or the Speed of Light, travel. A material called Demfray was discovered on Saysone, a small out-lying planet in the Eck solar system (same system as Terlokya). This discovery took place during the infancy of Terlokyan space travel, but nothing happened in regards to using the material. Demfray is a wafer like substance, really light, and neither a mineral or a metal. Found almost entirely underground, the material was discovered during mining operation for precious metals. When brought to the surface, even in the dim light of the faraway suns, (Saysone is on the outer reaches of Eck) some of the material began to move. When the load of metals arrived on Terlokya, this substance was separated from the rest of the material and brought into a research facility. It was discovered that this lightweight material was resistant to light. It would actually move away from it. The brighter the light, the faster and farther it would move. Nothing was made of this at the time since Terlokya was entering its time of conflict which eventually cumulated in the Great War. This material was brought out of storage by an inquisitive researcher who was heeding Kesmar’s call for improved high speed space travel.

After much experimentation in the lab, a test was set up in space. A pilot, Major Koss, highly decorated, fought in the Great War and the Cezzeck and Tennen wars, was chosen to fly a special fighter, a prototype of the eventual Kahn fighter, for the experiment. Attached to each side of the fighter were two booms, one holding a sample of Demfray, and further back on each side was a boom that held a light. These lights were adjustable in their intensity. The forward booms, holding the smoothed out, flat, sections of Demfray, had the samples lightly attached to the booms so when the light hit them, they would break free of the booms and travel away from the fighter. Further out in space were tracking ships that would attempt to measure the speed of the oncoming samples of Demfray. The left light was set to full intensity, and the right light to half. When the order was given to begin the test, Major Koss turned on the lights. A problem occurred when the front booms did not release the Demfray sample. This caused Major Koss’ fighter to go streaking off into space at the Speed of Light. The tracking ships measured Major Koss’ fighter traveling at 186282 miles per second. Major Koss brought his ship to a stop by turning off the lights and engaging the SMFT in full reverse. He was so far out in space that he had to use the lights to get back. Thus, the Speed of Light travel was born.

04/15/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - New Technology

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously. I mentioned the ongoing efforts to improve rapid space travel and laser weaponry. Current laser weapons in both hand-held and the larger cannon style weapons, utilized a constant flow of laser energy which for the most part annihilated anything it hit. Military leaders wanted to be able to control the level, or as the researchers said it, ‘pulsate’ the firepower.

The other critical area that needed improvement was rapid space travel. The current technology of Split Magnetic Field Travel or SMFT, was definitely the fastest way to travel, but not very accurate.  You could split a field but come out on the other end of the split thousands of miles from your intended target. Since research had proven so far that nothing could exceed the speed of SMFT, then a faster way to travel to final destination had to be developed. Even though Magnetic Field Realignment travel or conventional speed travel as it was commonly known as, was really fast, it just wasn’t fast enough to cover for the inadequacies of SMFT. But a breakthrough was about to happen when the question was finally asked, “How can we travel as fast as light?”

04/08/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Moving Forward

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last time I told of the passing of Kesmar and the ascension of Killot to the leadership of Terlokya. He became Terlokya’s first Supreme Commander. Following in the footsteps of Kesmar, Killot felt great pressure to prove himself worthy. Killot had been The General of the Ground Force on the planet Kekter before becoming a member of the Supreme Council. During this time, Terlokya had been fighting to retain control of Kekter for years against a species called the Hesters. They were somewhat humanoid, shorter, with a leathery covering and very adverse to moisture, hence always quite dirty. But they were highly intelligent, almost as advanced as Terlokyans, and very good fighters.

The Hesters had started another campaign to wrest control of Kekter away from the Terlokyans. Kekter was a dry, dusty planet with little water but loaded with mineral deposits. It was in the same solar system as Cezzeck, the first planet colonized by Terlokya that was outside their own solar system. Killot decided to lead the Terlokyan ground forces against the invading Hesters. Already a war hero, Killot proved himself again by routing the invaders. He led a company of Terlokyan Warriors around the flank of the enemy and destroyed their main force. He returned to the capital, Kukno, a hero again.

04/01/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - The death of Kesmar

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told of the need for technological improvements in space travel and weapons. Kesmar championed this. The entire Terlokyan population looked to him as their leader so they knew that this had to be done … especially after being discovered by a new enemy, the Veloptors. But Kesmar was quite old by now. He had lived over half his life when he became Terlokya’s first unified leader and was given the rank or title of ‘Priimus’, which meant ‘The First’. But now, he was at the end of his life. As he was taking his last breaths, the Planetary Governing Council knew it had to have the next leader ready. This council had a plan for the future. Its members were ingrained with the beliefs of Kesmar. Since they knew they were entering the post Kesmar era, changes had to be made. They planned to change the name of the council to the Supreme Council. Then they elected one of its members, Killot, to be Terlokya’s next leader. But the rank/title of Priimus could not be bestowed upon him. It was decided that Killot would be the Supreme Commander.

Kesmar was made aware of all of the upcoming changes and agreed with them. Just a few days later, he passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side. All of Terlokya mourned. Adored by all, he had become known as the Father of Terlokya after uniting the entire planet following the Great War. But now he was gone and the new Supreme Commander, Killot, had big shoes to fill. Coming from a military background with a strong scientific education, Killot had been very involved with research on high speed space travel. So after leading Terlokya through the mourning of Kesmar, Killot was going to have to do something dramatic to win the confidence of the citizens.

03/25/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Defense

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about the horrible discovery that this new enemy of humans use our kind as food. They had discovered other planets of humans, but the captured Veloptor didn’t have the space locations. But his cohorts had escaped with our high speed space travel technology, or Split Magnetic Field Travel, as we call it. The Veloptors had accidently stumbled upon us by exploring a rif, the spawned split in a magnetic field that is caused when a field is split. It was a technology defect. Kesmar, the leader of Terlokya, was nearing his final days. But since his words rang true, that of the impending arrival of a fierce enemy, those that had harbored an opposing view of a military buildup were now clamoring for an even greater spending on weapons technology and improvements to high speed space travel.

Researchers worked at what they already knew while more needs were defined. The military wanted to go beyond merely having laser weaponry that simply fired a stream of red energy that obliterated whatever it came in contact with. The need to capture, disable, disarm, or kill all became priorities for a new laser weapon system that could be carried by the common soldier or adapted (or replace) the laser cannon system currently in use by the military. Pinpoint accuracy was the goal for high speed space travel improvement. The whole of Terlokya was now behind this defensive buildup. But there would be a setback in this progressive effort. A void was about to engulf the spirit of Terlokya.
