05/06/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - WARRIORS REBORN

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously I told of the new weapon, the Pulsar. A training program was set up to develop a ruthless soldier that would stop at nothing to protect Terlokya and all humans everywhere. Elite soldiers from the past were called warriors. But with the emergence of an enemy so fierce, and with beliefs that humans were merely food, we knew that we needed to be as brutal as them. The captured Veloptor, Balzzee, told us of other planets that had human life, but the Veloptors had captured these planets and used the inhabitants as a food source. Terlokya needed to find these planets and free them.

In the beginning of the Warrior Reborn program, soldiers within the ranks were encouraged to sign up. Only 1% of early signees made it past the first week. By the end of the first year, there were only five Terks in the program. What was required of them from the onset was not for the slightest faint of heart. The military hierarchy soon realized that this development was going to take more than a few years. This was going to take generations. Any Terk raised in the Terlokyan civil society was going to have to be a different breed to become a ruthless and merciless killing machine. All feelings of love and compassion would have to be eradicated. These new warriors would literally have to become animals.

04/29/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - PULSARS

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously I shared with you history on the discovery of traveling at the Speed of Light. Now that a small hitch in high speed space travel had been solved, laser technology was next. Weapons, specifically laser pistols, rifles, machine guns, and cannons, had to improve their laser delivery systems. Laser weapons of that time period fired a high energy stream which usually ended up obliterating whatever it hit. That made it difficult to capture an adversary. With a new found enemy now in existence, the need for information about them could only be acquired by capturing a Veloptor.

The solution to this problem came from a very unlikely source. In manufacturing, lasers had been in use for quite a while. Plus, industry lasers used a variable stream of energy in various manufacturing processes. So the transformation of that technology to weaponry went smoothly. Now a new sidearm was developed for Terlokyan soldiers, the Pulsar. Easily adaptable and modified. The fuel/ammo were proton fusion tubes that gave energy blasts, or streams of energy, that were funneled into laser beams when fired, depending on the length of the trigger pull. Amount of destruction or kill/injury was dependent on the energy setting. It came with a sleek polished black barrel. The entire frame and stock were a dull black. Reloading a proton fusion tube was easy. Pop the tube out, then pop one back in. The tube and the trigger were the only moving parts on the weapon. Simplistic in design, deadly on the battlefield. Extra tubes could be attached to each side of the weapon for easy access during reloads. This became the weapon of choice for all Terlokyans, especially the Warriors. Now a new breed of soldier was needed to combat the terrifying new enemy.

04/22/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - SOL

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously, I talked about Split Magnetic Field Travel, or SMFT, and its limitations. Experimentation was going on in regards to SOL, or the Speed of Light, travel. A material called Demfray was discovered on Saysone, a small out-lying planet in the Eck solar system (same system as Terlokya). This discovery took place during the infancy of Terlokyan space travel, but nothing happened in regards to using the material. Demfray is a wafer like substance, really light, and neither a mineral or a metal. Found almost entirely underground, the material was discovered during mining operation for precious metals. When brought to the surface, even in the dim light of the faraway suns, (Saysone is on the outer reaches of Eck) some of the material began to move. When the load of metals arrived on Terlokya, this substance was separated from the rest of the material and brought into a research facility. It was discovered that this lightweight material was resistant to light. It would actually move away from it. The brighter the light, the faster and farther it would move. Nothing was made of this at the time since Terlokya was entering its time of conflict which eventually cumulated in the Great War. This material was brought out of storage by an inquisitive researcher who was heeding Kesmar’s call for improved high speed space travel.

After much experimentation in the lab, a test was set up in space. A pilot, Major Koss, highly decorated, fought in the Great War and the Cezzeck and Tennen wars, was chosen to fly a special fighter, a prototype of the eventual Kahn fighter, for the experiment. Attached to each side of the fighter were two booms, one holding a sample of Demfray, and further back on each side was a boom that held a light. These lights were adjustable in their intensity. The forward booms, holding the smoothed out, flat, sections of Demfray, had the samples lightly attached to the booms so when the light hit them, they would break free of the booms and travel away from the fighter. Further out in space were tracking ships that would attempt to measure the speed of the oncoming samples of Demfray. The left light was set to full intensity, and the right light to half. When the order was given to begin the test, Major Koss turned on the lights. A problem occurred when the front booms did not release the Demfray sample. This caused Major Koss’ fighter to go streaking off into space at the Speed of Light. The tracking ships measured Major Koss’ fighter traveling at 186282 miles per second. Major Koss brought his ship to a stop by turning off the lights and engaging the SMFT in full reverse. He was so far out in space that he had to use the lights to get back. Thus, the Speed of Light travel was born.

04/15/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - New Technology

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Previously. I mentioned the ongoing efforts to improve rapid space travel and laser weaponry. Current laser weapons in both hand-held and the larger cannon style weapons, utilized a constant flow of laser energy which for the most part annihilated anything it hit. Military leaders wanted to be able to control the level, or as the researchers said it, ‘pulsate’ the firepower.

The other critical area that needed improvement was rapid space travel. The current technology of Split Magnetic Field Travel or SMFT, was definitely the fastest way to travel, but not very accurate.  You could split a field but come out on the other end of the split thousands of miles from your intended target. Since research had proven so far that nothing could exceed the speed of SMFT, then a faster way to travel to final destination had to be developed. Even though Magnetic Field Realignment travel or conventional speed travel as it was commonly known as, was really fast, it just wasn’t fast enough to cover for the inadequacies of SMFT. But a breakthrough was about to happen when the question was finally asked, “How can we travel as fast as light?”

04/08/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Moving Forward

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last time I told of the passing of Kesmar and the ascension of Killot to the leadership of Terlokya. He became Terlokya’s first Supreme Commander. Following in the footsteps of Kesmar, Killot felt great pressure to prove himself worthy. Killot had been The General of the Ground Force on the planet Kekter before becoming a member of the Supreme Council. During this time, Terlokya had been fighting to retain control of Kekter for years against a species called the Hesters. They were somewhat humanoid, shorter, with a leathery covering and very adverse to moisture, hence always quite dirty. But they were highly intelligent, almost as advanced as Terlokyans, and very good fighters.

The Hesters had started another campaign to wrest control of Kekter away from the Terlokyans. Kekter was a dry, dusty planet with little water but loaded with mineral deposits. It was in the same solar system as Cezzeck, the first planet colonized by Terlokya that was outside their own solar system. Killot decided to lead the Terlokyan ground forces against the invading Hesters. Already a war hero, Killot proved himself again by routing the invaders. He led a company of Terlokyan Warriors around the flank of the enemy and destroyed their main force. He returned to the capital, Kukno, a hero again.

04/01/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - The death of Kesmar

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told of the need for technological improvements in space travel and weapons. Kesmar championed this. The entire Terlokyan population looked to him as their leader so they knew that this had to be done … especially after being discovered by a new enemy, the Veloptors. But Kesmar was quite old by now. He had lived over half his life when he became Terlokya’s first unified leader and was given the rank or title of ‘Priimus’, which meant ‘The First’. But now, he was at the end of his life. As he was taking his last breaths, the Planetary Governing Council knew it had to have the next leader ready. This council had a plan for the future. Its members were ingrained with the beliefs of Kesmar. Since they knew they were entering the post Kesmar era, changes had to be made. They planned to change the name of the council to the Supreme Council. Then they elected one of its members, Killot, to be Terlokya’s next leader. But the rank/title of Priimus could not be bestowed upon him. It was decided that Killot would be the Supreme Commander.

Kesmar was made aware of all of the upcoming changes and agreed with them. Just a few days later, he passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side. All of Terlokya mourned. Adored by all, he had become known as the Father of Terlokya after uniting the entire planet following the Great War. But now he was gone and the new Supreme Commander, Killot, had big shoes to fill. Coming from a military background with a strong scientific education, Killot had been very involved with research on high speed space travel. So after leading Terlokya through the mourning of Kesmar, Killot was going to have to do something dramatic to win the confidence of the citizens.

03/25/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Defense

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about the horrible discovery that this new enemy of humans use our kind as food. They had discovered other planets of humans, but the captured Veloptor didn’t have the space locations. But his cohorts had escaped with our high speed space travel technology, or Split Magnetic Field Travel, as we call it. The Veloptors had accidently stumbled upon us by exploring a rif, the spawned split in a magnetic field that is caused when a field is split. It was a technology defect. Kesmar, the leader of Terlokya, was nearing his final days. But since his words rang true, that of the impending arrival of a fierce enemy, those that had harbored an opposing view of a military buildup were now clamoring for an even greater spending on weapons technology and improvements to high speed space travel.

Researchers worked at what they already knew while more needs were defined. The military wanted to go beyond merely having laser weaponry that simply fired a stream of red energy that obliterated whatever it came in contact with. The need to capture, disable, disarm, or kill all became priorities for a new laser weapon system that could be carried by the common soldier or adapted (or replace) the laser cannon system currently in use by the military. Pinpoint accuracy was the goal for high speed space travel improvement. The whole of Terlokya was now behind this defensive buildup. But there would be a setback in this progressive effort. A void was about to engulf the spirit of Terlokya.

03/18/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Just Food

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about how our soldiers captured a Veloptorian pilot that could write Terlokyan. The reptile was kept in a very secure facility on the moon Donar.  It told us that its name was Balzzee. When the Terk medical staff asked Balzzee what its normal diet consisted of, the reptile replied, ‘human flesh.’ It further informed us that Veloptors had discovered two other planets with humans on them and had captured the planets, then harvested the populations for food. And now they raise humans on their planet and their colonies for food consumption.

Needless to say, this was very upsetting to us. The news that other planets were out there and were inhabited by humans, was an exciting discovery. However, coupled with the new found knowledge that these planets had been captured and were used as human food farms, led to the effort to extract the locations of these planets from the captured Veloptor. At that, came a new discovery – Veloptors can’t be physically tortured. They were not only tough, but could shut down their pain sensors. So all the efforts to make Balzzee give information about the human planets failed. There was only one thing to do now that the Veloptors had our high speed space travel technology. We had to prepare for their return.

03/04/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Veloptors

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about an alien being discovered aboard one of their disabled fighters after the large alien fleet came through a rif next to a small Terlokyan fleet and destroyed them. They departed back through the rif. The disabled alien ship that they left behind was towed into orbit around the planet Cezzeck. Terlokyan military, specialists, scientists, along with Kesmar (the founder of a united Terlokya) came to Cezzeck to see what they were dealing with. What they discovered upon opening the alien ship, was the pilot. It was a reptile known as a Velociraptor on Earth and a Veloptor on Terlokya. And it was alive but badly injured. But even in its injured state, the reptile lashed out at them trying to injure, kill, or maim the Terks who were actually trying to keep it alive. They had to tranquilize it so they could get it out of the ship. After doing what they could for the reptile, they locked it up in a large secure space until they could figure out how to communicate with it once it healed.

Veloptors had advanced from their dinosaur days as Earthlings know them. Allowed to evolve without their species being destroyed by a meteor, they became the intelligent, dominant species of the planet Velox. Their front legs had grown longer and were useful as arms. The tail remained strong but was smaller and used as a weapon. It became a highly intelligent being. When the captured reptile began to talk, language experts tried using computer models and other technology to decipher what it was saying. But to their surprise, the reptile could write in Terlokyan. What the reptile communicated to them though, was absolutely horrifying.

02/25/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Colonial Wars

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I discussed the error in the Split Magnetic Field Travel and how aliens came through the rif and sat face to face with Terlokyans. We were friendly, they were not. They massacred us and captured two of our fighters. Since the planet Cezzeck was our colony and this battle occurred right outside the planet’s orbit, observers in the space stations that were orbiting the planet knew of the massacre. The rif was still open and the aliens left through it before it closed, presumably going back to where they came from.  But they took with them the two captured Cruiser Fighters that were equipped with the Split Magnetic Field Travel technology. But the aliens left behind one of their disabled fighters.

Needless to say, we were sure that whoever they were, they would replicate our technology and be back. The colony itself on Cezzeck was very small. It was more of a military-industrial complex to where some of the military and civilian residents brought their families due to extended deployments. Strategically it was of no importance. But as for mineral wealth, it had vast quantities of Costine which is used in manufacturing flexible metals. So it was a huge mining operation. Plus another planet in that solar system, Kekter, also had Costine. It wasn’t more than a year before the aliens returned. And this time they came in force. Kesmar, quite old by now, was still always vigilant. He had built up the defenses of both planets in preparation for the invasion he knew would come. And he knew what type of invaders they would be based upon what was discovered in the disabled alien fighter.

02/18/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - A New Enemy

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about Split Magnetic Field Travel, and the glitch which was another split developing elsewhere in the magnetic field, called a rif. I mentioned the rif entrance and exit could be far away from the split entrance and exit, the entrances could be far apart with the exits close together, or vice-versa. The problem occurs when the rif entrances and exits are far apart from each other. If you don’t have an eye on the rif, how do you know who might be entering it?

The problems of high speed Split Magnetic Field Travel became very apparent when a small fleet of Terlokyan ships split a magnetic field near the planet Kekter in the Hastin solar system. Kekter was an uninhabited planet but was valuable due to vast quantities of Costine which is used in manufacturing flexible metals. The fleet was going to make a short hop to the planet Cezzeck in the same system. Cezzeck had been colonized by Terlokya, along with the planet Seth in Hastin. These planets were practically uninhabitable due to the solar system orbiting a dying black sun. It was always cold there but the colonies thrived. But on that particular day, there weren’t any unexpected occurrences as the fleet entered the split entrance and then exited near Cezzeck. Upon exiting, they discovered a large armada of foreign, or alien space craft. These other ships had entered the rif entrance, which was far away from the split entrance, but the rif exit was right next to the split exit.  These alien ships exited right before the Terlokyan fleet had exited. The Terlokyans hailed the much larger alien fleet and bid them welcome in the name of peace. The alien ships responded with a laser attack that wiped out most of the Terlokyans. The rest were captured.

02/11/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Glitch

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told about high speed space travel by Split Magnetic Field Travel, but there was a glitch. Whenever a field was split, another split developed elsewhere in the field ... called a rif. It could be close by or at the opposite side of the field. The same thing occurs on the exit … the exits could be close to each other or far apart. To make this even more complicated, no two magnetic fields are alike in size of shape. It might appear that this really shouldn’t be a problem. A ship enters the entrance of the split and exits the split on the ‘projected’ path. However, a ship could enter rif and exit the rif … where ever the entrance and exit might be.

Where the glitch became problematic, was when a ship entered the rif and exited the rif. Let me restate that the rif entrance and exit could be far away from the split entrance and exit. But that also means the entrances could be far apart but the exits could be close together. That doesn’t appear to be a problem. That is, as long as you know who is entering the rif.

02/04/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Exploration

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I wrote about how Kesmar pushed developers to discover faster ways to travel in space. Success was achieved. The planet Terlokya resides in the Eck solar system. The planet Qanzazini, also located in the Eck solar system in a further orbit than Terlokya, was targeted for exploration and provided a perfect test for the two forms of space travel; the older but much improved Magnetic Field Realignment or MFR technology and the new higher speed Split Magnetic Field Travel or SMFT. Past attempts to reach Qanzazini using the older version of MFR, yielded a wealth of knowledge by sending exploratory spacecraft to the planet to check for the necessary environment to support life. For years, Terlokya knew Qanzazini could support life, but it took many months to travel there. Now MFR speeds could get Terlokyans to Qanzazini in a little over a month. Scientists were curious as to how fast SMFT speeds could get ships to the planet.

On the initial test of sending an exploratory spacecraft to the planet, four ships were used. Two ships were called the ‘splitters’ that carried special launchers for the plutonium-239 to create the explosions thus splitting the magnetic fields. Only one ship is required, but if upon reaching their destination and the splitter ship was damaged, a backup ship was necessary for the return. The other two ships were the exploratory ships. The initial launching was a success and all four ships slipped through the Split Magnetic Field. However, on the other end of the magnetic field near Qanzazini, only three of the ships arrived. The backup ‘splitter’ ship did not arrive with the other three. But when the backup ship was hailed on radio, they responded saying that they traveled safely through the split but ended up further out in space near the next planet of the solar system, Saysone, a small airless planet. It seems that there was a problem with Split Magnetic Field Travel.

01/28/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - New Dawn

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told of Kesmar’s quest to unify the entire planet and how he used his blood heritage to win over the last holdouts, the Mooomuos, instigators of the Great War. He reveled to them that he had their blood in his veins from his Father being a half-breed. That won them over.  So with a united planet, Kesmar, (or Priimus as he was now known by) began his new quest to raise the research and development of technology to levels unseen. First, improvements were needed to bring devastated areas of the planet back to life. Advancements were made in soil reclamation, solar and wind power, and organic farming. A planet wide information system was developed accessible to all Terlokyans. Education and healthcare became rights for everyone. The civilian population were being taken care of and were totally behind the effort.

With the important areas of military technology lagging behind the desired level, the lines between military and civilian research and development in terms of transportation on Terlokya and in space were eliminated to combine resources to advance the cause – which achieved grand results. Military and civilian scientists jointly improved Magnetic Field Alignment travel by leaps and bounds. The most important breakthrough was in high speed space travel. Scientists knew that space is made up of varying sizes of ‘magnetic fields’ or ‘magnetic plates’, sections of space that border each other. They discovered a method of splitting or separating 2 plates and slipping between them until they close back up. This is accomplished by using plutonium-239 explosions to push the 2 plates apart. Then ships travel through the gaps. This is then repeated at the next field. There were many deficiencies but it was the best method at the time.

01/21/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Priimus

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told of Kesmar uniting Terlokya and focusing the planet on technology to improve their post war plight and improve their military … specifically high speed space travel. He was increasingly viewed as the new leader of Terlokya in most of the former nation continents. There was an ‘acceptance’ problem in the eastern section of the former nation of Kamchow. Elements of the former military dictatorship were not in favor of a so called ‘halfbreed’ with a Vultairean mother from Boesona being their leader. Sensing that another conflict could occur, the regional military governor in Kamchow cracked down on the restive Mooomuos causing riots who were inciting the normal population. They felt the Mooomuos from the eastern part of the former nation of Kamchow were being persecuted. But Kesmar had a plan. To defuse the situation, Kesmar scheduled a speech in Foehopnik, the provincial capital of Kamchow, the former capital of the nation. Everyone advised against it, but he was determined. He said, “What I will tell them should defuse the situation forever.”

On the day of the speech, Kesmar invited the opposition leaders in Kamchow to be with him on the stage in the middle of the city square. He began his speech by reiterating a common belief amongst the Mooomuos that if an individual had any Mooomuo blood in them, they were a Mooomuo. Once Kesmar let that settle in, he reminded the crowd that, yes, his mother was a Vultaire and his father was an Annten. But then he dropped his bombshell. He told the crowd that his father’s father was half Mooomuo, making Kesmar 1/8. The crowd went crazy, cheering him as if he was one of their own. The opposition leaders stepped forward and swore their allegiance to him, raising his hand up and shouting, “Priimus Terlokyan!” … meaning ‘First Terlokyan.’ A few days passed and the new Planetary Governing Council, later named the Supreme Council, joined with the military leaders to bestow the rank of Priimus on Kesmar and make him the first Terlokyan Commander of the unified planet. He was the only Terlokyan to ever hold the rank of Priimus, with those following in his footsteps taking the rank of Supreme Commander. There can only be one ‘First’ and Kesmar was it.

01/14/14, Earth Time: 06:00 AM, EST, Tuesday – The Story of Terlokya - Rebuilding

Greetings and salutations. Caslaikove here. Last week I told of the new leader of a united Terlokya, Kesmar. He disbanded the nation continents and convinced all Terlokyans to buy into his vision of a united planet that would forge a new future. But he first faced the daunting task of rebuilding the devastated planet from the Great War. He combined the remaining military elements from all former countries into one force. Anything that didn’t fit was scrapped. Then he empowered the military to begin the rebuilding of the planet’s manufacturing infrastructure and agricultural base. As these areas grew, he added the civilian population in to replace the military effort in these endeavors and refocused them on the new mission of R & D for a space military buildup. Kesmar knew that it was only a matter of time before other species from other areas of space would eventually come calling. Their intentions were the big unknown. The most important goal of the military R & D was to develop high speed space travel.

The Parnewsians of Sygon had developed the basis of crude Magnetic Field Realignment, or MFR travel but had never shared it outside of their country. The other nations were still using conventional fossil fuels which limited speeds. So the technology was shared and the rebuilding began. The former nation continent of Boesona was literally destroyed so it became off limits to everyone, a virtual no-mans land. The few remaining Vultaires became true Terlokyans since their former homeland was destroyed. They were the most dedicated of the rebuilders, desiring for all of Terlokya to be a homeland for everyone. They practically worshiped Kesmar who did not disappoint as a leader. Some of the new Terlokyan ‘citizens’ were not entirely happy.
